GENETIC INFORMATION:
Co-dominant
FIRST FOUNDED:
NERD INC, 1997
DESCRIPTION:
The pastel gene is a must have for any breeder, they enhance almost any gene when combined. They bring bright colors into new morphs every year. Pastels are brighter then a "wild" ball python, their patterns are typically the same, some can be a little more eccentric in prime examples. They have lighter colored eyes and clear bellies. The pastel has been used to make some of the most prolific ball python designer morphs. There are many "types" of pastels but all play the same roll. The brighter the animal typically the better the offspring will look. Many breeders over the past few years have line breed their pastels for certain traits that they desired and so there are many "breeder named" pastels, NERD lemon line, citrus line, bell line Neon line, and the list goes on. Many breeders re-name the snakes so their name or companies name will stay attached to the lineage of the animal.
OTHER NAMES:
Jungle pastel, (names associated with the company or breeder responsible for the lineage of the animal) ex: BELL, LEMON, NERD ext
CURRENTLY KNOWN CROSSES:
pastel spider, super pastel, super pastel spider, pastel pinstripe, pastel ghost, pastel mojave, pastel lesser, pastel butter, pastel pied, pastel clown, pastel cinnamon, pastel black pastel, pastel enchi, pastel caramel albino, pastel albino, pastel super mojave, pastel super lesser, pastel super butter, pastel yellow belly, pastel ivory, pastel woma, pastel champagne, pastel calico, pastel super stripe, pastel genetic stripe, pastel spector, pastel axanthic, pastel spider axanthic, super pastel spider axanthinc
